  • Mechanical Engineering

Description

The group is engaged with numerical simulations of fluid flow phenomena with heat and mass transfer mainly following two research lines:

  1. FORCED CONVECTION IN MICROCHANNELS. Scope: in-depth study of the peculiar aspects of fluid flow and heat transfer in microscale and optimization of micro heat exchangers and heat sinks with applications mainly in the field of microelectronics.
  2. HEAT TRANSFER IN THE PRESENCE OF HETEROGENEOUS CONDENSATION AND EVAPORATION. Scope: development of numerical methodologies for solving heat transfer problems on wetted surfaces, with phase change; modeling of ice solidification/melting/removal; film stability, phenomenological modeling of the droplet regime and of the formation and characterization of rivulets.
