Nursing

The Course is held in both Udine and Pordenone. You will be trained to become a professional nurse, able to evaluate and manage the nursing needs of the individual and of the community. Once qualified, you will be able to plan and manage treatment, rehabilitation, and palliative and educational interventions for individuals and in the community. The Course includes lessons and practical activities (laboratories, professional practice, individual tutors, work groups) and individual study. During the Course, you will have clinical tutors who will follow you in your practical learning experience, and one or more didactic tutors who will accompany you throughout the whole educational and training process. There are also optional internships which you can choose from.
As a graduate nurse, you can work for the health care settings, hospitals, care institutions, other public and private facilities, or as a freelance, individually and/or associated with others. You will be able to find employment in Italy, in the European Union and in any Country where the Italian qualification is recognized.

The final exam qualifies the student as a professional nurse, responsible, once registered with the professional register, for general nursing care. The competences acquired pertain to the management of priority health problems of the individual and the community. The graduate nurse can work for health care services , hospitals, health residences, care institutions, other public and private facilities, or as a freelance, individually and/or associated with others. He/she will find employment in Italy, in the European Union and in all countries of the world where the Italian qualification is recognized.
The graduate nurse, also as a part of post-graduate training, can:
- work in any health context, taking responsibility for general nursing care, using clinical, inter-personal and technical competences, and becoming an important reference point in the education of the patient by applying strategies to develop health and self-care as indicated by the World Health Organization;
- work as a community nurse, either in the local or wider area, both autonomously and in close cooperation with other health workers in order to develop strategies to look after people with health problems.
- act as a tutor for other students or nurses not yet qualified, as a teacher for core disciplines at the University or elsewhere, and actively participate in the improvement of nursing, working in work groups, on projects or in research.
- further develop his/her training in the clinical field, in research, training and organization. The staff of health professions can hold various positions, such as:
- professionals with a degree or equivalent qualifications;
- professionals working as coordinators, with a first-level master degree in Management;
- specialized professionals with a first-level Master degree for specialized functions;
- managers with a specialized degree.
