Mechanical Engineering

The Master's Degree Course in Mechanical Engineering aims to train highly competent and professional technicians, capable of working in an industrial context also taking on serious responsibilities, carrying out demanding design tasks, management of complex systems, and activities in the field of design and production as well as in the R&D area.
Thanks to the high-level skillset acquired, the graduate will be able to identify, formulate and solve complex problems, even in an innovative way, either autonomously or within multidisciplinary groups.

You will study the fundamental aspects of advanced mechanical planning with reference to the development of components and complex systems, with in-depth knowledge of: computer-assisted design and planning, modern techniques of numerical simulation, etc. You will be required to know the fundamental principles of organization and management of industrial plants, the technological, logistic and organizational problems of industrial production systems, with particular reference to the properties of materials, production costs and times, quality, etc., and to have a detailed knowledge of the main aspects connected to the production and use of energy, including the problems of environmental impact.
You will choose a certain number of options that will allow you to make an in-depth study in the field of Constructions (structural design and calculation of mechanical members and mechanical systems in both static and dynamic field), energy (thermodynamics, fluid-dynamics and energy systems, and the study of fluid-driven machines, with particular reference to internal combustion engines, and the design of energy plants for industrial purposes), materials and metallurgy (physical-chemical characteristics and mechanical behavior of materials and production techniques, with particular reference to metals), and production (mechanical production technologies).
Graduates are able to work in different fields, including: computer-assisted design, production, management and organization, assistance to technical-commercial structures. Apart from working in industry, graduates can find interesting professional opportunities with engineering Companies, scientific and applied research institutes, and also in public administrations. The main job opportunities are therefore in mechanical and electromechanical industries, Companies working in energy conversion, plant engineering enterprises, automation industries, manufacturing enterprises in general for the production, installation, management and maintenance of machines and production lines.

Magister graduates in mechanical engineering are able to work in different fields, including: computer-assisted design, production, management and organization, assistance to technical-commercial structures. Apart from working in industry, Magister graduates in mechanical engineering can find interesting professional opportunities with study centers, engineering Companies, scientific and applied research institutes, and also in public administrations. The main job opportunities are therefore in: mechanical and electromechanical industries, Companies and bodies working in energy conversion, plant engineering enterprises, automation industries, manufacturing enterprises in general for the production, installation, management and maintenance of machines, production lines and departments. The versatile training that characterizes the mechanical engineer is also appreciated in small and medium enterprises, where an ability to adapt, a flexible approach and a multi-disciplinary background are required.

The job market has always welcomed the figure of the Mechanical Engineer with considerable interest. Systematic surveys confirm that the Mechanical Engineer is in great demand, among the first on the list, whether this is a general list or restricted to Engineering graduates, both with regard to the percentage of employed one year after graduation, and also for job security and average remuneration.
