Suspension of the PhD Programme

Suspension procedure on Esse3

The PhD student may apply for a suspension of the PhD course, if the conditions set out in the Internal Regulations for PhD courses are met.

PLEASE NOTE: The suspension periods, which must be approved by the Teaching Board, cannot exceed 6 months in total (without prejudice to the specific cases provided for by law), and must be made up for.

Suspension requests are managed through Esse3 (“Career - Career Suspension”).

At least 15 days before the start date of the suspension, the PhD student is required to submit the suspension request through the online procedure. At the end of it, the system automatically sends a communication, with the form to be filled in attached. The form must be signed and sent to the e-mail address dottorato.rice@uniud.it, together with the supporting documentation reporting the reasons for the suspension.

The PhD student is not asked to upload any documents in the online procedure.

The application for suspension involves the payment of the stamp duty (€ 16.00) through the PagoPA system.

At least 15 days before returning, the PhD student is required to send a communication to the PhD Office (dottorato.rice@uniud.it), to the Supervisor and to the Coordinator of the PhD programme, indicating the effective date of resumption of the research activity.

For further information, please consult the Internal Regulations for PhD courses and the national legislation in force on the subject.
