Philosophy and history
The PhD program will be activated in the academic year 2026/2027 (42nd cycle) subject to initial ministerial approval.
Educational objectives
The PhD program, divided into two curricula (Philosophy and History), aims to train highly qualified researchers in the fields of historical and philosophical studies, who are able to navigate current historical and philosophical debates independently and critically. The program offers the opportunity to develop skills in analyzing and evaluating texts and sources, including through the use of digital tools, to articulate and explore topics and issues in depth, and to formulate careful and comprehensive interpretations of the complex processes of development in the present. In addition, the course aims to bring together two fundamental areas of comparison, research, and knowledge: a focus on the international dimension, interacting with supranational research subjects and networks, and a focus on the local area, also responding to the needs of the Third Mission and Social Impact.
