How to apply for admission to PhD programmes

Applicants can be admitted to a PhD Programme after passing an entrance exam, provided they have submitted an application within the deadlines and in the required forms specified in the Call for applications.

Before filling an application

  1. Carefully read the call for applications and any attachments (Table 1-12)
  2. Verify that you have the admittance requisites required by the call for applications and any the related attachments: check that you meet the eligibility requirements specified in the PhD Call
  3. Prepare the documents to be attached to the online application in PDF format.

Assessment of the foreign academic degree for admission to the PhD Programme

The suitability of the foreign degree is assesed by the Selection Committee for the sole purpose of the selection process and further enrollment in the PhD programme, in compliance with the Italian legislation and with the legislation in the country where the degree itself was issued as well as in compliance with international treaties or agreements on the recognition of qualifications for PhD applicants.

PLEASE NOTE: the online application requires some mandatory documents, whereas others are optional.

 

How to fill the application 

The online application consist in two stages:

  1. Registration on the University’s site (https://uniud.esse3.cineca.it), at the end of which a username and a password are assigned in order to access the second stage. If you already have the credentials (for instance, because you were a student of the University of Udine), you can directly begin with the second stage.
  2. Filing in the application for admission (https://uniud.esse3.cineca.it).

PLEASE NOTE: Candidates who wish to apply for more than one PhD Programme must submit separate applications, attaching the required documentation for each one. It is not possible to apply for more than one curriculum within the same PhD Programme.

 

Enrollment

Candidates admitted to the PhD Programme are required to proceed with pre-enrollment on Esse3 (right-hand menu: "Secretariat" - "Registrations") as indicated in the call for applications. At the end of the pre-enrollment, the system automatically generates the first installment of the fees that must be paid by the deadline communicated (right-hand menu: "Student Administration office" - "Payments").

The Research Training Office will complete the enrollment after checking the documentation provided.
The PhD student will receive a notification of the completed enrollment.
