Objectives

The objectives of the course will be:

  • clarify the epistemological status of moral philosophy (object of inquiry and methodology adopted to study it)
  • illustrate the main ethical paradigms on the table
  • offer a set of critical tools for understanding contemporary ethical debate
  • provide some introductory insights into the relationship between general ethics and applied ethics
  • initiate an initial introductory reflection on research ethics (in general).

The thematic intervention on Life Sciences will take up the last point covered in general and analyze it in the specifics of the disciplinary context.

The objectives will be the same:

  • to clarify the peculiarities of ethical problems related to research in relation to different disciplinary fields
  • offer keys to critical reading
  • solicit personal reflection.
