Objectives
The aim of the course is to provide a tool to get in deep in previously acquired knowledge, concerning the analysis and the design of the building and its elements, realised by applying traditional and sustainable building techniques. Starting from the study of the use, between tradition and innovation, of basic building materials, such as stone, reinforced concrete, glass and wood, the course continues by considering living and working spaces, in their relationship with habitability, accessibility and fire prevention. Standards and instructions concerning such topics are provided. The course ends with the founding aspects of sustainable buildings design and the topic of the sustainable use of water in buildings.
