Contents
Introduction. Topics and basic concepts. To “read” the historical built environment and understand the deep changes brought by contemporary era. (4 hours)
The Contemporary Era. Illuminist revolution of way of thinking and modernization processes. A short account of the developments of architecture between the second half of XVIII century and the end of XIX century. (4 hours)
“The Short Twentieth Century”. Historical vanguards and architecture in the first half of 20th century. Continuity and differences in the post-war period. Some case studies. (14 hours)
The last forty years. After modern architecture: the turning-point of the years 1970; outline on nowadays trends. (8 hours)
