Objectives
This course aims at providing students with basic elements concerning configuration and management of industrial facilities.
Acquired skills
- Modelling a layout problem and solving by well-known algorythms.
- Recognising configurations and management options of industrial warehouses and material handling systems.
- Identifyng factors affecting productivity of industrial facilities.
- Moving from fundamentals of theory of reliability for a single element, calculating reliability of a system.
- Recognising main approaches and methodolgies for maintenance of industrial facilities.
Lectures and exercises (Topics and specific content)
Production capacity and productivity: total and single factor productivity, capital and capacity utilization, utilization and efficiency indexes, productivity in parallel and serial systems (8 hours).
Reliability and Maintainability: reliability definition and measures (MTBF and hazard rate), life distributions; system reliability models, series and parallel systems, key element method, path sets, cut sets, fault tree analysis; maintainability definition and measures, repair time distributions; availability definition and measures (11 hours).
