Goal: To understand the types of IP rights and how to use Patents to enhance research results and boost technology transfer

• Introduction to Intellectual Property Rights: types and purposes
Patents as strategic assets for innovation
• Patentability requirements and Patent lifecycle.
Patent Information Search and Analysis

Goal: To understand how to use patent information for research, technology scouting and competitive positioning.
Key Topics:
• Anatomy of a patent document: claims, description, drawings and legal status
• Patent information as a source of technical and competitive intelligence
• Building effective search strategies
• Practical guided exercises
• Assignment for the final hands-on session.
Modulo 2
Hands-on Workshop
Goal: To effectively use patent information for research, technology scouting and competitive positioning.
Key Topics:
• Presentation and discussion of partipants’ assignments
• Review of search strategies and results
• Guided hand-on searches based on participants’ research fields
• Q&A and feedback session.
