Philosophy

The aims of the Course are to create an awareness of the historical-cultural provenance of philosophical ideas and theories of the past and present, to develop a critical knowledge of contemporary philosophical thought, to develop the ability to interpret and manage communication within the different cognitive and practical contexts. The syllabuses cover the fundamental disciplines of philosophical education in the fields of theory, epistemology, linguistics, morals and history of philosophy from the ancient world to contemporary society. There are also syllabuses in disciplines such as aesthetics, the philosophy of law, history of political thought, and pedagogy.
After graduation, you will find employment in universities and research institutions, secondary schools, in public administration, in publishing, in the management of human resources in the administrative sector in public bodies or private companies, in the organization and management of cultural centers and libraries, cultural programming and implementation of cultural programs in public and private bodies, and in philosophical consultancy.

Graduates will have positions with a high degree of responsibility in the following fields:
- universities and research institutions that undertake research in philosophy and cross-disciplinary areas (with access to a research doctorate and to other forms of higher qualification);
- secondary school (either as a teacher, having completed the qualifying process and passed the examinations established by the regulations in force; or organizing and directing cultural initiatives and activities connected with the school);
- cultural activities and policies in the public administration of the State, Regions and local government bodies;
- publishing, including in specialized fields, in both traditional forms and multimedia;
- management of human resources in the administrative sector in public bodies or private companies;
- organization and management of cultural centers and libraries, cultural programming and implementation of cultural programs within public and private bodies, organization and implementation of training programs with particular focus on ethical and communication problems;
- philosophical consultancy;
advertising activities preparatory to journalism, creative advertising.
