Midwifery

The Course will train you to be a professional midwife, which includes assisting and advising the pregnant woman, assisting her during childbirth and assisting both her and the newborn child in the weeks following birth. The midwife's skills also include: sex and health education both within the family and the community; psycho-prophylactic preparation for childbirth; prevention and control of female genital tumors; preparation and assistance for obstetric and gynecological surgical operations; attendance at maternal and neonatal assistance programs.
The Course comprises theoretical lessons, guided clinical study, seminars, practical lessons, internships, tutorials, self-learning, self-assessment and in-depth study, projects, laboratory activities and research. You will do your internships at University clinics, Hospitals and other health structures such as districts and advisory centers.
As a qualified midwife you can work in public and private health structures both as an employee or freelance, in particular in Hospitals, Universities, social-health districts, advisory centers, schools and at home. The Degree allows you to work anywhere in the European Union and in other countries where the Italian degree is recognized as equivalent.

The midwife is competent to assist the physiological birth in complete autonomy, to collaborate with the specialist in emergencies and to evaluate pathologies autonomously. For this reason he/she can work in public and private health structures both as an employee or freelance, in particular in Hospitals, Universities, social-health districts, advisory centers, schools and at home. To work professionally it is necessary to be registered on the professional Register. The Degree allows the graduate to work anywhere in the European Union and in other countries where the degree is recognized as equivalent.
