Multimedia Communication and Information Technologies

The Course is held in collaboration with the University of Klagenfurt (Austria). It trains professionals with a thorough knowledge of processes, environments, objects and services designed for interactive machine-mediated communication. You will thus be able to plan and create network systems and services, and to manage the networking sector in the field of multimodal machine-mediated communication in distributed application settings, using embedded devices and pervasive computing. You will also acquire a thorough theoretical knowledge of sharing and using information sources, entertainment (digital TV, interactive TV, interactive cinema, etc.), domotics and control systems. You will study machine-mediated communication (pervasive and/or ubiquitous computing, wearable computing, surveillance etc.) and integrated communication (wireless or cable).
There is a Convention between the University of Udine and the University of Klagenfurt (Austria) so if you enroll in the double degree program you will have to write your thesis in English and discuss it at both universities.
You will thus obtain the degree of “Diplom-Ingenieur” in Computer Science from the  University of Klagenfurt and the Master's in Multimedia Communication and Information Technologies from the University of Udine.
After graduating you will work in the new media and public relations based on the media (Web, radio and digital television, digital cinema, electronic and multimedia publishing, audiovisual communication and advertising, etc.) and information technologies (cell phones, on-line information systems, 3D virtual worlds, web-based multimedia services such as e-business, e-commerce, e-government, e-health, e-learning, etc.).

Specialization areas for the programme in Information Technology at the Alpen Adria University of Klagenfurt are:
• Embedded Systems and  Signal Processing
•  Media Engineering
•  Mobile and  Wireless Systems
•  Pervasive Computing
The Alpen-Adria-Universität of Klagenfurt (https://campus.aau.at/) will post updated information on the courses of each specialization area on its website.
