DIRB - European Charter
The University of Udine is promoting the “Communicating Research” award, which aims to recognise participants’ ability to communicate their research activities, to mark the tenth anniversary of the European Charter for Researchers.
Indeed, in May 2016, the University of Udine received the prestigious HR Excellence in Research Award from the European Commission, which recognises the institution’s commitment to promoting and applying the principles of the European Charter for Researchers, guaranteeing high-quality working conditions, supporting attractive research careers and ensuring open, transparent and merit-based recruitment processes.
The initiative is organised as part of the ‘Joint Project’ launched between the University and the Fondazione Friuli, and the ‘Across – European University for cross-border knowledge sharing’ project, and is aimed at early-career researchers at the University of Udine.
Target audience
It is aimed at those who have obtained a master’s degree no more than 10 years ago and who are currently PhD students, PhD graduates, research fellows, researchers (RTD a, RTD b and RTT), research grant holders, postgraduate students, holders of research contracts, holders of research posts, and postdoctoral research fellows.
Areas
The Award aims to present three prizes for the best presentations delivered by participants in relation to their research activities in the following areas:
- LS – Life Sciences
- PE – Physical Sciences and Engineering
- SH – Social Sciences and Humanities
Award Ceremonies
The selected winners will present their research during the ceremony marking the tenth anniversary of the University of Udine’s HR Excellence in Research Award (23 October 2026), thereby gaining wide visibility. On that occasion, they will be presented with an award and a cash prize by the Rector, each with a gross value of €1,500.00.
Deadline
Applications must be submitted by 12 noon on 7 September 2026 by completing the form and attaching the research presentation materials to the following form
