Home-Work by Bike Project: E Cumo' Pedale!

The University of Udine has signed a framework agreement with the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia to promote the "Home-Work by Bike" project, with the aim of encouraging the use of bicycles as the main means of transportation for commuting between home and university. This initiative aims to reduce the environmental impact associated with motor vehicle usage and promote a healthier, more sustainable lifestyle.

In line with this commitment, dedicated cycling infrastructure such as bike racks, charging stations, and repair stations will be installed at all university campuses throughout 2024. In the following years, cycling infrastructure will be optimized to facilitate access to UNIUD campuses, involving neighboring municipalities. Additionally, there will be an analysis of the health benefits of active mobility through periodic medical examinations.

Carpooling service

Uniud on the GO is a service exclusively for students, professors, and staff, accessible through the UP2GO app. Sharing your car along the home-to-campus route saves money, reduces pollution emissions, earns credits for each trip made (convertible into discounts and benefits), and promotes excellent social opportunities. At the end of 2022, a contest was launched to reward students' creativity in proposing a logo and a slogan for the new university service that could be meaningful for the entire academic community. The committee ultimately selected the logo and claim depicted below as the winners.
