Banking and Finance

The degree course in Banking and Finance aims to train professionals capable of acting with adequate skills in both financial and non-financial companies (credit relationship manager, investment portfolio manager, pension plan manager- pension fund manager, asset and personal risk coverage manager), both in the performance of the freelance profession, among which, by way of example, are identified, as pertinent profiles, financial advisors, independent consultants, insurance brokers, specialist business consultants in financial planning and management.
The set of courses offered is aimed both at understanding the phenomena that characterize business economics and at the critical understanding of the issues related to the management of corporate finance, the legal and technical operational characteristics of intermediation processes and products credit, insurance and securities management (attributable to the activity carried out by SIM and SGR). This approach makes it possible to define professional profiles capable of covering basic and intermediate roles, in the field of management of financial companies, in the area of ​​managing the finance function in non-financial companies and in the sector of business and property consultancy. To achieve these objectives:
- In the economic-business context, the basic issues are addressed, appropriately contextualized on a historical and systemic level, useful to then deepen the aspects related to the management of companies and the understanding of the complex contexts in which they operate
- In the legal field, the knowledge aimed at understanding the profiles of contracts, companies and, more generally, the economic relationships between the various operators (public and private) is outlined;
- In the mathematical-statistical field, quantitative skills and basic and specialist level tools for measuring economic-business phenomena are strengthened.

Furthermore, as distinctive and characterizing elements of the course of study, topics and investigations relating to financial disciplines related to the products and services in use in the various intermediation sectors such as those offered by banks, insurance companies, mutual funds, funds will be presented and analyzed pension and financial instruments brokerage firm.

At the end of the training course, the student will be in possession of functional skills for accessing the labor market in areas previously described.
It is believed that the training framework described, adequately articulated and deepened in correlation with the objectives characterizing the course of study, can guarantee / provide students with an organic and satisfactory preparation.

The professional profile of the graduate in Banking and Finance mainly refers to activities related to credit intermediation, insurance, asset management (SIM and SGR) and freelance in the field of financial consultancy.

The Bachelor's Degree Course in Banking and Finance aims to allow the acquisition and development of fundamental, general and specific skills, in the field of finance and financial management of the company, both from the perspective of the internal subject (management company), both from the perspective of the external party (company consultant), as well as transversal skills in the economic, legal and quantitative fields. In this case, the three-year graduate in Banking and Finance acquires the typical techniques and methodologies of business economic and financial analysis, financial planning, investment selection and financing decisions in any type of company; in particular, he learns the operating techniques of companies in the banking, financial and insurance sectors, with specific reference to the characteristics and methods of use of the products used.

The three-year graduate in Banking and Finance through:
- the acquisition of solid knowledge in the field of economics of financial intermediaries, through their declination in terms of role and functions with respect to complex savings-investment processes, or intermediation;
- learning operational techniques in the field of Banking, Insurance and the Stock Market, with specific detail of credit, insurance-pension products and securities (as well as the markets in which the latter are handled);
- the achievement of specific knowledge in the field of business economics, with particular regard to tools, characteristics, operating conditions and complexity of the different types of companies;
- the study of aspects related to the measurement of business phenomena in the various management areas, but in particular in the context of functions of a financial nature;
- obtaining an interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary preparation in the economic, legal and quantitative fields, as well as acquiring the historical knowledge essential for a correct understanding of the main problems of the economy;
will be able to manage both the positions obtainable at companies in the financial sector and the functions of the corporate finance area at other companies with adequate level of skills.

The Bachelor's Degree Course in Banking and Finance offers professional opportunities in the field of financial intermediaries (credit, insurance and securities), businesses (especially in the area of ​​finance) and in the exercise of the liberal professions (in particular as an independent consultant, financial advisor or insurance broker). More specifically:
- In the banking area, the course of study offers employment opportunities in the credit function and in the lending processes as well as, more generally, in the securities brokerage area;
- In the insurance area, employment opportunities are opening up in the field of social security and insurance consultancy, as well as the distribution of insurance products for the various branches of activity;
- In the area of ​​securities finance, the Degree Course offers significant employment opportunities, especially for professions related to the delegated management of savings;
- In non-financial companies there are opportunities for qualified insertion within the functional management in the various business areas and, more specifically, in the finance area (corporate financial analysis, financial planning and management of relations with banking system);
- Graduates may also choose the freelance profession, in particular in the field of business consultancy, as well as as a financial promoter, independent consultant or insurance broker, in accordance with the disciplinary requirements provided for by the law for the latter professions.
