Italian as a Foreign Language from Kindergarten to the Secondary School in the Project „Bildungscampus STadl-Predlitz“

The Campus Stadl-Predlitz is looking for a student in the ERASMUS programme, who would like to gain experience in teaching Italian as a foreign language. The “Bildungscampus Stadl-Predlitz” with two kindergartens, two primary schools and a secondary school offers the ideal framework for this.

Teaching Italian as a foreign language is part of the educational philosophy of the “Bildungscampus Stadl-Predlitz”. The curriculum suggests teaching foreign language courses, together with, or under the supervision of the responsible teacher or the project management.

 

Tasks

The work includes the selection and didactic processing of linguistic content and the selection of authentic materials in accordance with the respective target group of learners.

  • Kindergarten: Playful work in Italian (mother language) with children at the age of 2 to 6 – songs, chants, rhymes, storybooks. Pre-experience required, especially training of students in the field of phonology (prosody).
  • Elementary School: Elementary language teaching containing prosody, speech acts and grammar, based on authentic materials.
  • Secondary School: Support for Italian learners in the secondary school, especially in the field of communication.
  • Assisting the educational team of the campus by introducing authentic materials and innovative teaching strategies based on recent knowledge from Italian studies.
  • Contributing to the ongoing education of language teachers by refreshing their language skills
  • Participation in the afternoon care

 

Professional requirements

  • Good knowledge of Italian children's songs, rhymes and children's books
  • Confidence when presenting in front of a group

 

Language skills

  • Italian as mother tongue
  • Language competences in German
