Objectives
The course introduces to diodes and bipolar transistors and to the basic methodologies needed to analyze and design simple circuits in the small and large signal (bias) regime.
Acquired skills
- To understand the operation principles of junction devices and the related terminology.
- To identify the main specifications of the devices used to implement simple circuit blocks.
- To know the main methodologies for the analysis and design of simple circuits.
- To analyze and design the static and dynamic behaviour of electronic circuits under large and small signals operation.
Lectures and exercises (topics and specific content)
p-n junction: junction diode (static, transient and small signal behaviour); examples of diode-based circuits (10 hours).
