Objectives
The purpose of the course is to illustrate the working principles, the main design criteria, the performance and limitations of logical gates and digital circuits with particular attention to gates realized in MOS technology.
Acquired skills
- Understanding of the language and the parameters that describe digital circuits.
- Identifying the most suitable design style for logic gates or library cells starting from appropriate design specifications.
- Analyze the properties of digital circuits and logic families for the processing of digital signals.
- Design simple gates in different using different technologies and/or design styles.
- Using CAD tools for the analysis and design of electronic circuits for digital applications.
