Understand and solve problems involving physical phenomenon comprehension and proper mathematical modelling.
Lectures and exercises (topics and specific content)
Introduction: properties of fluids, statics of fluids (6 hours).
Experimental Analysis: dimensional analysis, pipe flow, particulates motion(10 hours).
General Conservation Equations: conservation principles, one-dimensional flows (12 hours).
Approximate Methods: non-dimensional conservation equations, lubrication theory, potential flow, boundary layer (12 hours).
Conservation Equations in One-dimensional Domains: macroscopic balances, velocity and flowrate measurements, analysis of one-dimensional flow tube (8 hours).
Transport of Fluids: transport in pipelines, pipeline design (8 hours).
Exercises (20 hours).
Labs (4 hours).
