Programma dell'insegnamento di Tecnologie chimiche speciali - cdl magistrale in Ingegneria per l'Ambiente e l'Energia

Teacher

prof. Marta BOARO

Credits

6 CFU

Objectives

The course aims to give students an overview of emerging technologies for a sustainable production and storage of energy, with a special emphasis on chemical processes at the basis of these technologies.
The first part of the course will explore the fundamentals of electrochemistry and  the application of this  discipline in the field of sustainable production (fuel cells) and storage (batteries, capacitors, flow batteries etc) of energy.  The second part of the course will present  the  technologies for the H2 production from renewable sources and the new technologies for the removal and utilization  of greenhouse gases such as CO2 and CH4.

Acquired skills

- Electrochemical Engineering principles  and applications
-Knowledge of chemical processes (photocatalysis and electrocatalysis) at the basis of the technologies for a sustainable production and  storage of energy .
-Understanding of  technological and socio-economic issues related to the development of renewable energy technologies.
