The Starting Grant supports excellent Principal Investigators starting or having recently started their own independent research team or programme. A Starting Grant Principal Investigator should have already shown evidence of the potential for research independence, for example, by having produced at least one important publication as its main author or a publication without the participation of their PhD supervisor. A researcher may be the Principal Investigator of only one ERC Starting Grant in their career.

Streptococcus pneumoniae remains a major cause of respiratory infections, and its epidemiology continues to evolve due to serotype replacement, possible re-emergence of serotypes not controlled by indirect protection, and population aging. Suboptimal IPD surveillance in Italy likely underestimates disease burden yet reported incidence nearly doubled between 2022 and 2024. This initiative addresses a clear diagnostic performance gap by supporting quality improvement initiatives designed to optimize and standardize microbiological diagnostic pathways for pneumococcal disease. Consistent with Quality Improvement principles, projects should focus on implementation of evidence-based practices, optimization of diagnostic processes, improvement of data quality and completeness, and enhancement of collaboration between clinicians and laboratories in routine care settings.

This competitive program seeks to generate real-world evidence on the functional and non-respiratory burden of RSV infection in hospitalised adults in Italy. Independent research projects will focus on characterising functional decline, loss of independence, and healthcare dependency following RSV-related hospitalisation in older adults and patients with pre-existing vulnerability, using routinely collected hospital data. Findings are intended to support a more comprehensive understanding of RSV's impact beyond the acute respiratory event, informing improved risk stratification of vulnerable patients, targeted prevention strategies, and post-discharge care pathways for adult populations at increased risk of functional decline.

L’ Avviso mira a finanziare progetti di ricerca, sviluppo e innovazione tecnologica nell’ambito della “Clean Hydrogen” (CHM) di Mission Innovation 2.0. I progetti selezionati dovranno contribuire allo sviluppo tecnologico e al consolidamento della filiera dell'idrogeno. In particolare l’ Avviso prevede una dotazione finanziaria pari a 82.600.000,00 € per progetti sulle seguenti tematiche: a) Produzione di idrogeno b) Trasporto e accumulo di idrogeno c) Usi finali dell’idrogeno d) Azioni trasversali sull’idrogeno Può presentare Proposta di progetto, tramite un’impresa Capofila, una compagine progettuale formata da almeno due partner tra Imprese (ivi comprese le Startup innovative) e/o Organismi di ricerca e diffusione della conoscenza nazionali. Il costo totale per ciascuna proposta di progetto deve essere compreso tra 2 e 10 M€.

É attiva su Jems dal 1° ottobre al 13 novembre 2026 la piattaforma per la presentazione delle proposte di progetti PILOTA (TEST projects) nel contesto Interreg di cooperazione trasnazionale Euro-MED nei seguenti ambiti tematici: Sustainable Economy (Reducing air pollution in the construction sector, Reducing water pollution in the agri-food sector, Reducing water plastic pollution), Natural Heritage (Ecosystem Restoration e Biodiversity Resilience and Management of Terrestrial and Marine sites) Green Living Areas (Wellbeing and health in living areas, Urban agriculture and resilient food systems). Durata e budget dei progetti: 24 mesi a partire da giugno 2027 per indicativi €2.000.000.

This call aims to support transnational research and innovation projects (for a period of 36 months) addressing one of the following priority areas: Priority area 1: Transitioning the blue economy sectors for sustainability and strategic autonomy Priority area 2: Managing sea-uses by advancing digital and ecosystem-based approaches Priority area 3: Promoting sustainable blue bioresources through innovation in marine production and harvesting Priority area 4: Building resilience in coastal communities with infrastructures and businesses Projects in this co-funded call must be impact-driven contributions to the transformation into a blue economy for a more resilient future and towards carbon neutrality targets, following an impact pathway approach. The proposals are strongly recommended to consider a minimum of two European sea-basins which are: the Baltic Sea, the Black Sea, the Mediterranean Sea, the North Sea and the Atlantic Ocean, and to assess the project proposal impact on various basins. Proposals can target European regional seas such as Adriatic Sea, Aegean Sea, Arctic, Barents Sea, Celtic Sea, etc. but they must be from a minimum of 2 different EU sea basins.

The MSCA Doctoral Networks aim to train creative, entrepreneurial, innovative and resilient doctoral candidates, able to face current and future challenges and to convert knowledge and ideas into products and services for economic and social benefit. The MSCA Doctoral Networks will raise the attractiveness and excellence of doctoral training in Europe. They will equip researchers with the right combination of research-related and transferable competences and provide them with enhanced career perspectives in both the academic and non-academic sectors through international, inter-sectoral and interdisciplinary mobility combined with an innovation-oriented mind-set.

Strategic projects for capitalisation are to take up existing Interreg transnational and cross-border outputs and results, to meet existing and new needs and strengthen their territorial and policy impact in wider areas, also beyond border regions. They must go beyond a mere pooling or duplication of what already exists. Instead, they should further develop, improve, or adapt existing outputs and results by drawing on the experience of more projects. As a minimum requirement, projects must explicitly take up existing outputs and results from: At least two Interreg CENTRAL EUROPE projects funded under the first and second calls of the 2021–2027 programme, and at least two Interreg cross-border cooperation projects (funded in the 2021-2027 period or, if relevant, in the 2014-2020 period), addressing internal central European borders.

Il bando ERC Consolidator Grant 2027 si è aperto il 24 settembre 2026 e rimarrà aperto fino al 12 gennaio 2027. È rivolto a ricercatori che hanno conseguito il dottorato tra 5 e 15 anni prima del 1° gennaio 2027 e che intendono consolidare la propria indipendenza scientifica e sviluppare una propria linea di ricerca. Il finanziamento può arrivare fino a 2 milioni di euro per 5 anni, con la possibilità di ottenere risorse aggiuntive per specifiche esigenze progettuali. Le proposte possono riguardare qualsiasi ambito della ricerca scientifica, sulla base dell'unico criterio dell'eccellenza scientifica.
